Kenneth John Lush

Kenneth John Lush, 77, a resident of Palo Alto for 10 years, died Sept. 22 in Roseburg, Ore., of complications from knee surgery. Born in Wiltshire, England, he earned a degree in mathematics and aeronautics from University College London and received a scholarship for further studies at Imperial College, London. He was involved in the early development of jet aircraft. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 and worked as chief test flight engineer at Edwards Air Force Base for five years. He then worked for Lockheed Aerospace in Van Nuys, Sunnyvale and Palo Alto for 22 years before returning to Edwards. After retirement he and his wife moved to Oregon to run a small farm. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Lush; a sister, Mavis Littler of England; seven sons, Ben, Tony, Robert, Christopher, Andrew, John and Gregory Lush; four daughters, Liz Kellogg, Mary, Dorothy and Katy Lush; and 14 grandchildren.
