From Bob Kennington:  Leroy was the B-1B CTF Director in 1984 when I was assigned as the CTF Deputy for Engineering. The B-1 crash that killed Doug Benefield occurred in August 1984. Leroy retired not long afterwards and went to work as a contractor test pilot. He died in 2000, and as I recall the cause of death was Lou Gehrig disease. He was a very nice man who was fun to work for.
