From Wayne Pihlgren:  "Ralph worked in the Flight Research Branch when I was there.  He was a GS-13 and my recollection was that he worked in the Stability & Control area. He had no supervisory duties that I can remember while in Flight Research.  He lived in Tehachapi in the years preceding his death. The two distinct recollections I have of Ralph was him driving a somewhat beat-up brown Chev Corvair (I had a Chev II) and Ev and him playing chess during the lunch hour. Always good natured and friendly disposition."
