Patrick John Zang, 55, of California City, passed away Tuesday, 9 October 2018 after a long battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Pat was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Robert Anthony and Martha Jean Zang on 2 June 1963.

He graduated from Desert High School at Edwards Air Force Base in 1981. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno in 1986. He received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at California State University, Fresno in 1992. He received his Master of Business Administration at Webster University in 2005. He became a Reserve Commissioned Officer in the United States Army in 1985 and served in the California Army National Guard. Pat began his career at Edwards Air Force Base in 1987 as an Engineer and ultimately became a senior leader with the 412th Test Wing.

Pat is survived by his wife Karen of 33 years, his son Matthew, daughter Suzanne, his father, Tony, his mother, Martha, brother Mike, sisters Jeanne Edwards and Kristi Gutierrez, and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, aunts, uncles, and mother-in-law.

Pat was a servant of God, loved God, and shared his faith with all. He was a servant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in California City. He loved and lived life to the fullest. He had a passion for riding and racing dirt bikes and was a member of the Lost Coyotes Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed camping, hiking, backpacking, and everything outdoors. He had a knack for telling stories and making us laugh. He led his family and friends on many adventures in the desert and mountains and demonstrated a passion for history and the local area.
